RBC Kids

There is a make up date scheduled for volunteers who missed our meeting last week. We will meet September 25th at 3pm in the FLC.

October 2nd is Super Cider Sunday in the children’s department! Parents are invited to enjoy a warm cup before Sunday school.

All families are invited to the Washington Farms Pumpkin Patch October 9th. We will leave the church at 2pm. More details to come.

Pot Luck Supper Honoring Sheila Moncrief 

Today, September 18th, the church will have a Pot Luck Supper after the 11 am worship service to honor Sheila Moncrief as she retires from Royston Baptist Church after 13 years of service.  

New Sunday School Bible Studies starting on September 25th

Vanessa Strickland’s Class will begin “Unvarnished Truth” by Blake Gideon, a study about in the importance of sharing our faith.  BASIC Class, taught by Michael James, is currently in this same study and starting Oct. 16 will begin a new study called“Unstoppable Gospel.”  The Barlow’s Sunday School Class will begin “Faith in 4D” a study about the discovery, depth, decision, and development of Christian faith today.

New Interim Hires

The Personnel Committee has hired three new interim position.  Kevin and Olivia Harris are the Interim Youth Ministers.  Evelyn Elrod is the Interim Financial Secretary.  Pam Skelton is the Interim Administrative Assistant, working on Mondays and Thursdays.  Please make sure to thank each of these people for their willingness to serve as the Personnel Committee begins to consider how best to fill these positions.

Interpretation: A Bible Commentary for Teaching and Preaching and 

Interpretation is a set of full-length commentaries on each book of the Bible, both Old and New Testament.

New Sermon Series

Starting October 2nd, a new Sermon Series: Mission Minded-Becoming a Missional Church.  Be here as we learn about what mission used to be, who decides the mission, what is our mission, and how you can participate.

Guest Preacher

Next Sunday, Sept. 25th, Rev. Frank Broome will be the guest preacher.  Frank is the long time Coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia.  Please welcome him next week as he preaches from Mark 2:1-12.  

Special Called Business Meeting

Next Sunday, September 25, is a special called business meeting at the end of the service to approve the nominating committees 2016-2017 committees and councils. The booklet containing all committees and councils is available outside of the church office. Please take one and contact a member of the nominating committee with any and all questions.
