Backyard Bible Study

Over the past few months some of our leaders, kids and youth have been taking part in a great backyard bible study with the kids at the Royston Housing Authority. These kids are a part of the after-school program at the Jones Circle activity building. The goal of this program is to teach our kids and youth about missions actively. By taking part in this study, RBC kids/youth are learning what it means to take the gospel outside of the four walls of our church building to those in need.

We have a great team of leaders in this venture. What makes this team so great is their willingness to do whatever is needed to achieve our goal.  We have had a few setbacks, but we have met, discussed and always get back in there with a better plan. God is definitely leading us! God is teaching the leaders just as much as the kids and youth participating.

RBC kids/ youth have really stepped up in participating in the BYBS. They are gaining the understanding that in this activity they are not just the students, but also a part of the leadership. Their confidence is rising, and although they are not there yet, they have really shown some amazing potential for great leadership.

The back yard bible study has been a challenge for us all but well worth the effort when we see our kids really applying what they have been taught, and really wanting to be a part of this great mission. And as an added bonus, we get to share the love of Christ with some wonderful kids!

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
