Have you ever thought about your thoughts? Do you ever think about what you are thinking about? God’s word says take “captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5b, NIV). EVERY thought? I must have millions a day! It seems impossible. Well, maybe it is for me, but God’s word also says with Him all things are possible. I think we first have to be aware of any negative thoughts and slowly begin to replace them with positive ones. For example, “It’s all my fault. I’m to blame for every bad thing that happens to me”, can be replaced with “God says I’m not responsible for all the bad things. I’ve made mistakes, but I am learning and growing, and, most of all, I am forgiven by God.” The truth is God loves us and He sees us as worthy of His love, so worthy that He sent His son to die for us. God has given us a purpose and we are valuable to Him.
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1b)
Think about that!
